Eating out [Matthew] Empty
PostSubject: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptySun Sep 05, 2010 3:37 pm

Francis held the Canadians hand as they walked over the streets. For the man of love, Francis, it hadn't came to mind that it might've looked like they were a couple. Francis thought friends could hold hands. At least it was normal in France.

He looked around for a nice place to eat at. Something that was not mc donalds. Dieu- that food would make you fat, and he couldn't have that non? On a second thought, pizza wasn't healthy either. He looked around. He then saw a small restaurant. They served waffles and pancakes there.

"Hmn~ I think I have change my mind." He said somewhat absent mindedly. He then faced the other. "Let's eats some pancakes over there instead." He said but it was more of a question.

PostSubject: Re: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptySun Sep 05, 2010 7:31 pm

Matthew paused.

Pancakes.

He had to mull the word over in his head for a moment, confirming that the thought was indeed real.

Pancakes.

Violet eyes looking upward, the Canadian soaked in every detail. The storefront was rather simple; sign neat and straight, windows clean and door draped with nothing more then an 'open' sign with the store hours labeled underneath. He breathed in, the scent of sugary syrup at once meeting his senses. A look of awe swept across his features, almost immediately replaced by an eager, feral grin.

Matthew. Loved. Pancakes.

Turning at once to his french companion, he flashed his teeth, squeezing the hand he was holding without taking note of the image it presented.

"I like the way you think." He stated, eyes aglow. "Although I'm afraid you may have quite the bill on your hands after we're done. Pancakes are...my specialty."

Francis chuckled lightly. "Seems you love pancakes, let's go then." He said as he crossed the street while still holding the Canadians warm hand. He didn't mind treating Matthew, even if he ate a lot. He was so adorable. Also it meant he wasn't going to eat alone, that was nice for a change.

They sat down at a table next to the window. It was rather quiet inside. They were sitting at quite a nice spot. Francis sat in front of Matthew, smiling softly. A lovely lady came to their table to take their order. The Frenchman greeted her and flirted a bit. Then turned back to his company. "You can order whatever you like, my treat after all. Don't worry about it." He told him as he smiled happily. He didn't want to have the Canadian worry about money. It was his treat after all. And he could afford it, so why not treat a friend, hmn?

PostSubject: Re: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptyWed Sep 08, 2010 6:33 am

"Anything?"

Matthew smiled from behind his menu.

"You're really too kind."

He felt as though he was a kid in a candy shop, and his foot tapped the floor excitedly. Speed reading through the list of pancakes, he decided on a dish and placed his menu down with a small whoosh of air.

He ordered the largest stack of pancakes available, topped with fruits and most importantly - syrup. Stomach grumbling at the mere thought, he smiled at the waitress and Francis. It was great eating pancakes. It was great eating with a friend.

Hell, it was great being outside.

He folded his arms across his chest (just for the sake of doing something) and looked over at the frenchman, wondering what he would choose.

Francis nodded. "Oui~" He then also put his menu down. The waitress came to get their orders. He ordered a small stack of pancakes with icecream and chocolate sauce on top. Dieu- his favourite. The waitress left them to get the ordered food and Francis turned back to Matthew.

The Frenchman decided to get to know Matthew a little bit better and looked for a subject. "So, what else do you like, besides pancakes?" He asked with an added chuckle.

"What else do I like?"

He grinned, resting his elbows on the table between them. His likes - besides his passion for pancakes and syrup - weren't all too odd, nor interesting, and the blonde had to think a little for something that wouldn't put the other man to sleep. He'd always considered himself painfully average - but then again, he supposed that he was his own worst critic.

"Little things, really. Quite boring." He paused, tracing a light circle on the tabletop with his finger. "Reading. Fireplaces, snow. Polar bears. My family. Stuff like that."

He looked between the invisible circle and Francis, after a moment adding,

"What about you?"

Francis smiled sotfly. "Zat is not boring, it is nice you enjoy the little things." He said. Fireplace and snow huh? Dieu- zat sounded quite nice now. Sitting by the fireplace, in winter, with some hot chocolate and company.

He wondered if Matthew was in secret quite a romantic person. "Moi? Hmn...I like art et music, almost all kinds." He smiled. "fashion off course." He added with a chuckle. "And friends and family, things like that." He said. It really wasn't anything special.

"Thank you."

He blushed lightly, smiling without his teeth and cupping one hand over the other. He was curious about Francis, and as the man spoke he listened intently, eyes shining with interest. Matthew loved the way the frenchman spoke; the way he rolled his r's and the grace at which his accent altered the sounds of words. It was as if he made words completely new, buzzing and teeming with whatever emotion he was feeling. The Canadian could listen to him for days.

"You seem like a very creative sort of person." He said after he was sure his friend was finished, "Art, eh? What are some of your favourite artists?"

He would have asked about fashion, but of course, looking between them that fact was a little obvious. Matthew looked terribly plain in comparison to Francis, what with the Canadian's Red hoodie and well-used cargos in comparison to the Frenchman's sharp, sophisticated attire.

Francis smiled. "You're welcome." He said softly to the Canadian. He saw him watching with interest as he told what he liked. Somehow it really was adorable and he felt honoured. "To be honest, I do not really have a favourite artist, I just love paintings of landscapes. Especially oilpaitings." He told the Canadian.

Right at that moment the waitress had come with their dinner. He thanked her and then smiled back at Matthew. "Bon appetit~" He said and looked at his own dinner. It looked rather delicieux.

[Ooc: I myself know nothing of art, I don't even know many artists xD]

PostSubject: Re: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 9:23 am

So Francis was into oils, was he? Matthew looked at him, half smirking as he thought. He himself was more of a watercolour type, but he had to agree that oil paintings were really quite beautiful. He opened his mouth, about to say something, when their waitress arrived with their food. Immediately the canadian silenced himself, grabbing his utensils with a childish glee. He was giving the frenchman an overly enthusiastic grin again (the likes of which he reserved for hockey and pancakes only) and nodded at the other's words.

"Same to you." He stated, digging in.

Now, Matthew Williams is not an outgoing person. When he interacts with others, it's almost always with polite intent, and he seldom thinks about himself during such a time. However, seeing him in an environment he's completely comfortable in, completely driven by habit and instinct (and hunger) is a sight to behold.

Holding his fork backwards and in his fist as if it were a spearing tool, and with a slice of his knife, a large chunk of pancake vanished into his mouth. He repeated the process - hardly botherting to chew - at a rapidfire pace, smothering the dish with syrup every few moments.

((That's alright. C: neither do I, really))

Francis nodded. "Merci~" He started with figuring out how you eat a pancake with ice cream on it. He ended up eating the ice slowly first. Taking his time, clearly enjoying it. He chuckled as he watched the Canadian, eat somewhat excitedly. It was rather some change, the boy had been quite polite and shy but now he wasn't holding back, seeming to forgotten his manners.

The Frenchman smiled and decided not to comment on his eating behavior and continued eating his dinner silently.

PostSubject: Re: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 3:59 pm

The canadian had, oddly enough, quite a one-track mind when it came to food. He was one of those people who quite frankly ate to live instead of lived to eat. While it was true he could hardly taste what he was eating, years of the same food put the expected taste into his mouth. The pancakes felt somewhat gooey in his mouth - from the syrup, he figured.

All was going well until a fluffy piece of dinner failed in direction and lodged itself in his windpipe. Matthew then froze, willing himself not to breathe, and he shut his eyes tight. Then, doing what he usually did when choking took place, he reached into his mouth and pulled the blockage out of it's place, looking at it sheepishly before setting it to a side of his almost empty plate. Choking was embarassing, and probably meant that he should slow down.

"S-sorry." He muttered, face a little red.

Francis looked away when the Canadian did something not so uhm...fresh. He smiled back at him as he appologized. "It is okay." He told him. It happens to everyone non? And it was somewhat cute that the Canadian enjoyed his food that much, non?
Meanwhile the Frenchman had also finished his dinner. He hadn't had much pancakes anyway. Ah he was full. He smiled some more at Matthew. "Well those pancakes were pretty good, non?" He somewhat asked but he already knew that the Canadian had also enjoyed them.

Matthew nodded, embarassment dying down. Overall the dish had been delicious, and despite the choking he had enjoyed it very much. He smiled at Francis, and finished the last bit of his food.

"They were, thank you. Although I'm...sorry for the embarassment."

With that, he set his hands on his lap, one free one resting on a pocket containing his wallet.

Francis smiled and nodded. "You're welcome." He noticed the embarassment on the Canadian's face and chuckled some. "It is okay, do not worry about it, Mathieu." He told him. He then leaned back and motioned for a waitress to come over to get the bill. It wasn't that much, he could afford it. He paid and got up, offering a hand to the Canadian. "Shall we head back?" He asked him smiling.

Eating out [Matthew] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eating out [Matthew]   Eating out [Matthew] EmptyFri Sep 17, 2010 10:53 pm

Matthew once again took the hand, no longer hesitating before he did so. "A-alright." he muttered, pleased, but a little surprised. He hadn't expected Francis to actually pay for the entire meal, and it left him feeling both flattered and guilty. The lest the canadian could have done was offer....

He voiced his concern. "You didn't have to pay for it all..." Frowning, his steps carried him alongside the frenchman at a comfortable pace.

Paying for half - if not all - of meals he'd either been forced to attend or started of his own accord was the blonde's usual routine. He usually had trouble saying no, and ended up paying because of that. It wasn't that he liked it, as in fact, he was quite grateful that he didn't have to for once, but it was only polite to return a favour when it was given. Francis had been the first to notice him, and Matthew felt that the man's kindness should have been rewarded.

So, getting a free meal (along with receiving an unusual amount of attention) urked him.

Violet eyes looked over at his friend, expressing his slight displeasure.

Francis smiled at the Canadian. Then he noticed the look on the other's face. He seemed somewhat guilty. "I promised to treat you, non? I'm a man of my words." He said and gave the other's hand a small squeeze. "Don't worry about it, I enjoyed eating together with you, instead of eating alone. So merci for zat." He said smiling some more. He tried to cheet the Canadian up a bit. Seriously, a host shouldn't make his guest upset, non?

Though he was still guilt-ridden, he managed an appreciative smile.

"I enjoyed eating with you too." He muttered, blushing lightly. Eating alone was a quiet ordeal, and though it was full of self reflection and deep thoughts, Matthew always longed for a companion to share his thoughts with. "You are indeed a man of your words. Thank you for that."

People these days were hard to trust, always saying one thing while meaning something entirely different. The fair skinned canadian had seen many sides of many people, and had found that truly genuine inividuals were quickly becoming a rarity. Matthew appreciated the ones he could find.

Smiling softly, he exhaled, leaning slightly into Francis as they walked. Night had begun to fall, and the meal was making the blonde just a little sleepy.

Francis smiled and nodded. "You're welcome, Mathieu." It seems like Francis had made a new friend. And a very kind and adorable. He smiled as they walked back home. He smiled even more when the Canadian leaned into him. The other seemed a little sleepy. Francis chuckled lightly, it was rather cute. The sun had already set and the night was about to fall. He checked his watch: 8.30 PM. To late to do anything, too early to go to sleep yet, he thought as they reached the house.

[Ooc: want to continue this in the house? Idk...maybe they can hang around or watch movie, read a book? lame lame I know.]

((Not lame at all. And sure, moving it to the house is cool.~ And with that...))

As soon as the light from the porch hit his closed eyelids, they snapped open and the Canadian found himself home. He frowned for a moment before an idea hit him, and for once he spoke without thinking.

"Let's watch a movie."

His eyes widened at his own words and an odd combination of happiness and nervousness crossed his features. He wasn't planning to say that, not yet, but it had been what he was thinking, and looking back on it the blonde was glad he'd done what he did. Perhaps he'd have changed his mind if he thought about it (deeming it too childish, probably) and he'd have gone to bed regretting never saying a word.

Francis blinked in suprise when Matthew suddenly spoke as they arrived. He hadn't expect something coming from him. He looked at Matthew and smiled. "Sounds good, let's do zat." He said nodding. The Frenchman hadn't planned on doing something else anyway. Maybe some reading but watching a movie with a friends was a lot nicer. He really didn't mind whatever movie they would watch.
He smiled and opened the door. Holding it open for Matthew and followed him then inside.
