Good morning mon petit maple leaf~ [Matthew]

Francis woke up smiling. Yesterday had been such a nice evening. He got dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen, humming happily as he did. He got into the kitchen and looked for something he could make. Maybe pancakes? He chuckled at the thought. Matthew would love that.

He turned around when he noticed someone had entered the kitchen. "A-ah good morning~ " He greeted happily.

Matthew had woken up later then usual, still with his usual energy, but with a head full of grogginess. Not bothering to take a shower or at the very least, change, he waddled out of his room, still in his red-and-white polar bear pajamas. Footsteps slow, he made his way down the hall and towards the kitchen, figuring he might as well make himself breakfast before anybody else he didn't know wanted to.

Upon entering the kitchen, however, he saw that someone was already there, and his first instinct told him to double-time it back to bed. He blinked, and before he could do so, recognized the person as Francis. Memories of the previous day flooded his mind, and he smiled.

"Good morning Francis." He stated, words calm. "Making breakfast?"

Francis nodded and smiled happily. "Oui~ I assume you were planning to do so as well, non?" He looked at the sleepy Canadian. He had to force himself not cuddle him to death. He was looking really cute right now. "Let's make some breakfast together then, hmn~?" He asked him smiling as he reached out his arm, as gesture to tell for Matthew to come closer and join him.

He accepted the offer, moving closer to try and sneak a peek at what Francis was prepairing. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, unsure of what to do with them. He was about to say something, when his stomach grumbled in protest of being empty. Matthew blushed, and chuckled rather sheepishly.

"Sounds great." He mumbled, looking at Francis. "What are we making?"

Francis chuckled when the Canadians stomache grumbled. A few moments later his own stomache grumbled as well. He chuckled even more and turned back to the fridge. "Hmn~ I was just thinking about that. I could make some pancakes, hmn~" He said grinning a bit as he glanced over at Matthew to see his reaction.

It only took the pronounciation of the word to trigger the exact response Matthew produced. His eyes widened and gleamed excitedly, and a large grin quickly took over his features.

Pancakes!

He stifled a giggle, biting his right thumb as he continued to smile.

"Pancakes sound great." He blurted, trying to keep his voice under control. His giddy nature took over, however, and he clung to the French man for a few moments in a crushing hug. "Really great."

Francis chuckled and his grin grew wider. He loved to see the Canadian happy like this. Though he hadn't expected him to hug him. He wasn't complaining, of course. He gently hugged Matthew back. He looked down and smiled softly. "Glad you'd like it." He said and brushed some hair away from the canadian's face.

He blushed more, if that was possible, and peeked a look behind the French man to the kitchen appliances themselves. They were all extremely high-tech (and extremely expensive) and so unlike the well-used pieces of metal he had back at his mother's. Truth be told, he was a little wary of these shining machines, as they still smelt like the plastic wrap they came in. But, this WAS a reality show, and the least they could do was have a well-working kitchen.

"What can I do?" He asked, eager to get working on the food. Letting go of his friend, he adjusted his now-crooked top, glancing back once he was finished.

France's smile grew wider as the Canadian blushed even more. Ah he was so adorable. He had to resist himself from pulling him closer and nuzzle. He was bit dissapointed when the other let go of him. But it's better to get working.

"Well you can help me make the batter. Maybe you can help me find the ingredients first though." He said adding with a chuckle. The kitchen was big and he hadn't even checked everything. But he loved to cook in here. He had enough space and everything worked.

He nodded, eager to be doing something. Making his way to the various cupboards, Matthew looked throught each one, taking out a couple large bowls and a plate as he did so. He smiled, and started to faintly hum a song. It was one he'd heard Francis singing the first time they'd met, and he's warmed to it as soon as he recognized the tune. There was something about french music that calmed the Canadian, the way the soothing words rolled out and flowed round him that made him smile and relax.

The plates clanked agaist each other, gleaming in the light.

"What do we need?" He asked, fully knowing, but wanting to be sure. Perhaps the French man made his pancakes differently. He wouldn't be surprised.

Francis smiled lightly as he heard the Canadian humming a very familiar song. The song he had been singing when he first met Matthew. He got out of his thoughts and blinked when Matthew asked him something. Ah right, pancakes. "Uhm eggs, sugar, batter, milk" He replied as he looked for a bowl and something to mix with.

He searched around for the items Francis listed, looking in the fridge first, then some of the cupboards afterwards. He managed to produce the eggs, milk and sugar easy enough, but it was the batter that seemed to be hiding from him. After looking through almost every cupboard, he found the box in (of course) the next-to-last one. He smiled, still humming and feeling quite pleased with himself.

He placed the box on the counter, amongst the other ingredients and clapped his hands together. This was going to be great! If there was one thing he loved more then pancakes, it was friends, and having both of them together made him jittery.

"Ingredients are ready!" He said happily.
